From FEIS TO STAGE, let CRC take you to the NEXT STEP!

 

Next Step is an 8 day Irish dance production for dancers age 16 to 20, male and female. This production is open to all dancers, no matter dance affiliation. At NEXT STEP, we will immerse Irish dancers in the professional stage world. Our goal is to help prepare you for the professional world and conclude with your very own show performance.

Here is what is included during your time performing with NEXT STEP

  • Meals & Accommodations during the 8 day production.
  • Unique choreography developed by amazing professional show dancers designed just for NEXT STEP
  • Costume rental and fitting thru our production department
  • Each cast member will go home with their very own MEDIA KIT including a professional headshot and production shot as well as a 60 sec video that our professionals film for you during the week. You can then use this media kit to submit as an audition piece to any professional touring show or performance.
  • Receiving classroom knowledge on just what it takes to become a professional show dancer while training with fellow cast mates.

 

ACCOMODATIONS:

Accommodations include 7 nights on campus at Union College utilizing one of their many Minerva’s. Minerva’s are campus houses that have a large entertainment room with games, sofas and TV. Minerva’s also have a kitchen, dining room and Hi-efficiency laundry facility. Bedrooms are dormitory style with hardwood floors and shared bathroom facilities on each floor. Males and females will be located on separate floors.

MEALS:

Meals are provided by Union College dining facilities. Cast members can enjoy a cafeteria style with all options available. Dining facilities offer a variety of options to cater to any dietary need.

CLASSES:

Each cast member will receive experience and knowledge in what it takes to be on a professional stage. Our classes and rehearsals will take you into the professional world, giving you the experience and preparation needed for the stage. With 8 days of learning choreography and dance training by respected professionals.

COSTUMES:

Costumes will be provided by NEXT STEP on a rental basis. No extra fees are charged for costume rental or fittings. All cast members must provide a basic costume attire to be worn under our costumes. This will be described upon application acceptance.

 

VENUE:

College Park Hall at prestigious Union College will be the host location for our performance. The grand ballroom will be turned into a theatre featuring state-of-the-art sound, audio, video and lighting and can accommodate up to 500 audience members.

MEDIA KIT:

In order for us to make your journey from the competitive stage to the professional stage complete, NEXT STEP will provide each cast member with a professional headshot and production shot as well as a 60 sec video that our professionals film for you during the week. You can then use this media kit to submit as an audition piece to any professional touring show or performance.

TRAVEL:

Union College is very convenient for those needing to travel by plane. Albany airport is a short 20-minute drive from the campus. Next Step office personnel can book a roundtrip shuttle for you for $25.00, just contact the office directly.

It is important for us to make sure your time with Next Step is as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. So the Program Directors will be providing the following during your stay…

3 Camp Advisors overseeing cast member housing and schedule.

Staff certifications including state permits required to operate an overnight summer program.

24 Hour medical staff on premises
